Masahiro Sakurai hosted today a Super Smash Bros. Direct, in which he explained the two upcoming titles, Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in greater detail. He revealed several returning characters for the series, one of which being Zero Suit Samus, which is our heroine without her emblematic Power Suit.

This time around, Samus and Zero Suit Samus will be separate characters, no longer switching between one another after the execution of a Final Smash. Furthermore, Zero Suit Samus has been equipped with jet boots, giving her further mobility and stronger kicks.

Sakurai also showed that Dark Samus is going to be an Assist Trophy for the game, joining Mother Brain and Metroid as Metroid-themed assists. Finally, it was shown that Ridley will be an obstacle in the Pyrosphere stage, which is based on Metroid: Other M.
