Nintendo Famicom Music

Monday, November 11th, 2013

NCL, Nintendo’s Japanese division, has announced an album celebrating the 30 years of the Famicom – their first home console in Japan. The album features 25 high-quality 8-bit tracks, each one from a different game. Although we don’t know which song it is, Metroid has a spot on the second CD, which is dedicated to games released for the Famicom Disk System and also features music from The Legend of Zelda and Kid Icarus, amongst others.

The album will be released December 4 and will cost 2,400 yen in Japan – it can be purchased at Amazon. No word has been given regarding a similar tribute for the Nintendo Entertainment System in America or Europe.
