This year the Golden Joystick Awards, the oldest gaming awards ceremony in the world marks its 28th annual awards and Metroid Prime Trilogy has been nominated in the Game On Shooter of the Year category.
The game was released back in 2009 and offered the three main Metroid Prime games, the first two being given Wii controls and enhancements compared to their original release. The game is still great value for money for anyone who didn’t play the Metroid Prime games the first time around.
The outcome of the category is down to YOU! You can show your support for Metroid Prime Trilogy by voting for it on the Golden Joystick Awards website.

I found a rather interesting article today I thought i’d share with you all. If you have played Metroid: Other M you may remember the scene where Samus encounters Ridley and is absolutely terrified as he approaches her. Many fans have questioned why this was the case given that she has faced Ridley numerous times in the past. Apparently, this is all down to PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder) and is connected to the death of her parents on KL-2 when she was still a young child. Her mother was killed before her very eyes by Ridley himself and because Samus thought she had destroyed him back on planet Zebes, seeing him again was enough to cause the PTSD to kick in.
The article can be found here and is quite an interesting read. It also shows a reference to the manga where PTSD is mentioned. So if you’re struggling to understand why Samus reacted in the way that she did, I urge you to check this out. Extra thanks go to the Metroid Database where this article was brought to my attention.
