In a change to our usual interviews, Shinesparkers will also be occasionally providing you with opinion pieces and thoughts on various Metroid related topics. Earlier this month I wrote a piece on my thoughts for Metroid Wii U and how the new controller could be used to play a brand new Metroid game. Both myself (Darren) and Naner will be writing articles that we hope you will enjoy. You can check out the Metroid Wii U concept article in the Articles/Features section now!

I do agree that a Metroid on the Wii U would be fantastic, but why just keep it on the Wii U? what if the game came out for both the Wii AND the Wii U. Keep Corruption’s control scheme for the Wii so it can be a hit to multiple crowds. And yes, Metroid Dread is a long awaited release. It would be amazing if that was the reason the Galactic Federation wanted the metroids dead (reference to the Project “Dread” scan in Corruption).
I agree with you on almost all of those points – just a few things that could make gameplay simpler:
* for changing view and direction, tilt the wii u remote up, down, left and right.
* hold the wii u remote horizontally for morph ball mode (kneeling would be much too redundant).
* use the accelerometer to control the morph ball by tilting it forward, backward, left and right.
* simply move wii u remote to a vertical position to get back into normal mode.
That way you could, in some ways, retain the shooting elements of Metroid Prime 3 while adding whole new layers of function to the gameplay.
